Statement

I make collage, assemblage, small sculptures and kinetic structures, using my own lifetime photographs mixed with ordinary, readymade, found and acquired materials. Sometimes the work is complemented with sewing or painting.

 

My concept is to set the images I capture with my camera free. Lately, I have transformed my photographs into mobiles, combining them with readymade materials, in a process where they are re-signified, released from their old status, while gaining movement to engage with the surroundings. As a result, the viewer boards a completely different experience, having also been released from the obligation of seeing pictures as pictures.    

 

I use installations to make the artworks become the environment, fully present yet in a very secondary, subtle way. By becoming almost imperceptible, sensed like a slight arôme, they transmit only the essential, almost unconscious beauty I want the viewer to perceive.
